Mbwa wangu

Mbwa huyu ni wangu. Yeye anaitwa Charlie.

(Don't speak Swahili? It says: This dog is mine. He is called Charlie. Charlie is a dog of the type English Springer Spaniel. He lives in the city of Waukesha also. He does not work. He is lazy. He likes to eat, sleep, and play with a ball.)

Yes my friends, this is what it is like to write papers in grad school these days. It is like jumping in the way-back machine to Whittier Elementary school, home of Wildcat Pride, and Mrs. Lynch's second grade lessons. The crazy thing is that it takes just as much work to do a second grade-level writing assignment as it does to write about the various doctrinal disagreements of the partristic era.

Thank goodness it is reading week.

That's a nice essay, but I disagree with one important thing: Charlie is not lazy. It's just hard work managing an entire household largely to yourself and keeping track of two human pets. Plus maintaining a healthy sheen on his fur must take HOURS of licking.

I would reread it and have one of Aunt Jenny's students do a peer review. Pull out the big red pen, Auntie! :)
