A New Year Blooms

Color Bursts Forth - New Years Day 2010

I welcomed in 2010 in true Malaysian fashion - with an Oreo McFlurry, medium Coca-Cola, and a handful of Curly Fries I snatched from a buddy.

Suresh and I landed at the 24-Hour MickeyD's in the wee-hours of the new year with Alex, Sean, Rachel, Donald, Florence, and the kids by a rather circuitous route. He and I had originally planned on meeting up with others closer to the city center after the Watchnight Service at LHC, but that was quickly scuttled by crazy-mad-KL-style-midnight-traffic-jams. Subsequent improvisations were thwarted by wrong turns into and through the Tropicana City parking ramp and other ill-conceived ideas. In the end it was determined that quality people were more important than a celebratory pint and thus we traded Carlsberg for Prosperity and wound up with the gang under the gaze of a plastic clown.

It was most definitely an unexpected way to end an already surprise-filled year and kick off what is bound to be another one filled with new countries to visit, new people to meet, and new spectacles to behold.
