Flyin' The Coop

615 miles down, 360 to go
my body feels like it is still moving on down I-80.
i'm tempted to write off the whole state of indiana after poor customer service at one of the rest areas. i realized in answering the call of the golden arches that service would be "adequate" at best, but the folks (all of whom seemed as though they could've been kinfolk of Cletus the Slack-Jawed Yokel) hit a new low. instead of the traditional "welcome to McDonalds, can I take your order" the fine folks behind the counter stood gawking at me and a dozen others, as if they had never seen any customers before. i swear i heard dueling banjos in the background as they stared us all down.
Pennsylvania has my favorite roadsign so far, reading "Buckle Up For The Next Million Miles."*
besides that, not much exciting to report. just miles & miles of turnpike.
*the roadsign attached to the building where they make roadsigns for the Indiana Turnpike identifying it as the "Indiana Turnpike Roadsign Manufacturing Facility" deserves an honorable mention. it might have topped the list if the whole state wasn't on the edge of being dismissed.
